Summer is a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather, but it’s also important to take steps to stay safe and well. Talk Community has pulled together practical advice to help residents make the most of the season while looking after their health.
Simple actions such as staying hydrated, seeking shade during the hottest part of the day, wearing sunscreen, and checking in on vulnerable friends, neighbours and relatives can make a big difference during periods of hot weather. Residents are also encouraged to be tick aware when spending time outdoors, practise good food hygiene when enjoying barbecues, and check vaccination requirements before travelling abroad.
During hot weather, a number of cool spaces are available across Herefordshire, including libraries, Herefordshire Archive and Records Centre, churches and other community venues where people can rest and stay hydrated.
