Rural Housing Week (6–11 July 2026) highlights the importance of providing the right homes in the right places. In Herefordshire, many local people, including young people, families, older residents and key workers, struggle to find affordable homes close to their communities and support networks.

Affordable rural housing helps villages stay vibrant, supports local services and businesses, and enables people with local connections to remain in the communities they know. Rural Housing Enablers work with local partners and residents to identify housing needs and develop small, well-designed schemes that benefit rural communities.

Through the Together for Rural Affordable Housing initiative, partners across Herefordshire are working to overcome barriers, strengthen community engagement and support practical housing solutions.
